Description
CD38 (cluster of differentiation 38), also known as cyclic ADP ribose hydrolase is a glycoprotein found on the surface of many immune cells (white blood cells), including CD4+, CD8+, B lymphocytes andnatural killer cells. CD38 also functions in cell adhesion, signal transduction and calcium signaling. CD38 is a multifunctional ectoenzyme that catalyzes the synthesis and hydrolysis of cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) from NAD+ to ADP-ribose. These reaction products are essential for the regulation of intracellular Ca2+. Diseases associated with CD38 include B Cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia and Richter's Syndrome. Among its related pathways are Hematopoietic cell lineage and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Differentiation Pathways and Lineage-specific Markers. GO annotations related to this gene include transferase activity and hydrolase activity, acting on glycosyl bonds. An important paralog of this gene is BST1.
Storage
The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity.
