Mouse Anti-Human Fibrinogen
| Size | 0.2 mg |
| Estimated Lead Time | 1-2 weeks |
| Species | Human |
| Specificity | This product recognizes human fibrinogen, a glycoprotein produced in the liver. Fibrinogen is a hexamer, consisting of two sets of three subunits (alpha, beta and gamma). Thrombin converts fibrinogen into fibrin, which is then cross-linked by factor XIII to form a blood clot. This product also recognizes fibrin degradation products (FDPs), substances that are left behind after a blood clot dissolves. This process, called fibrinolysis, is produced by the action of enzymes such as plasmin on fibrin. One FDP is D-dimer, levels of which can be used to diagnose deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. The fibrinolytic system is also closely linked to the control of inflammation. |
