Immunogen
Immunogen was a synthetic peptide derived from human LH. This antibody was produced from a rabbit immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction was purified from rabbit serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation, and followed by Protein A/G affinity chromatography.

Recommended ApplicationsELISA (recommended work dilution= 1: 4, 000(at least detecting 250ng/ml))
Reconstitution
Supplied as lyophilized and purified antibody originally containing PBS, without Preservative Stabilizers, such as Sodium Azide. The final concentration is indicated on the shipping vial. The antibody is stable for at least years from the data of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody (recommended with H20 1 mg/ml) can also be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for months without detectable loss activity. Upon reconstitution, the antibody can also be stored over months at 4°C. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Description

Description

LH is available mixed with FSH in the form of Pergonal, and other forms of urinary gonadotropins . More purified forms of urinary gonadotropins may reduce the LH portion in relation to FSH. Recombinant LH is available as lutropin alfa. All these medications have to be given parenterally. They are commonly used in infertility therapy to stimulate follicular development, the notable on being in IVF therapy.Often, hCG medication is used as an LH substitute because it activates the same receptor. Medically used hCG is derived from urine of pregnant women, is less costly, and has a longer half-life than LH. LH is a tropic hormone which modulates the secretory activity of other endocrine glands. It is produced in the anterior hypophysis of the pituitary gland. The glycoprotein hormone, LH, like follicle stimulating hormone and thyroid stimulating hormone, is composed of a common alpha-subunit but also a specific beta-subunit, which characterizes each of these hormones.

Specificity

The antibody can specifically bind to its immunogen, and did not show any cross reactivity with unrelated antigens in ELISA. The specificity for binding to recombinant protein, cellular protein and native antigen is not defined. Cross reactivity with mouse and rat LH has not yet been tested.

Storage

Keep it at 4°C if intended for use within a month. Store at -20°C if over months. Minimize freezing and thawing when use.
