Description

Introduction

MERTK is a member of the MER/AXL/TYRO3 receptor kinase family and a transmembrane protein with two fibronectin type-III domains, two Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains, and one tyrosine kinase domain. Mutations in MERTK gene have been associated with disruption of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) phagocytosis pathway and onset of autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa (RP).

MER Antibody (Cat# 102-17664) western blot analysis in Jurkat cell line lysates (35ug/lane).This demonstrates the MER antibody detected the MER protein (arrow).
Fluorescent image of U251 cell stained with MERTK Antibody(Cat# 102-17664/SH090316F).U251 cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min), then incubated with MERTK primary antibody (1:25, 1 h at 37°). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:400, 50 min at 37°).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor® 555 (red) conjugated Phalloidin (7units/ml, 1 h at 37°). Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue) (10 µg/ml, 10 min).MERTK immunoreactivity is localized to Vesicles significantly.
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lymphoma reacted with MERTK Antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
Flow cytometric analysis of jurkat cells using MERTK Antibody(bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.
