Description
CD19, a member of the Ig superfamily, is a 95 kDa glycoprotein that is expressed on B cells from the earliest recognizable B-lineage cells during development to B-cell blasts but is downregulated in plasma cells. CD19 acts as a B cell co-receptor associated with CD21 and CD81, which form a molecular complex for B cell activation. CD19 is also expressed on follicular dendritic cells and peritoneal mast cells. Upon activation, the cytoplasmic tail of CD19 becomes phosphorylated, which leads to binding by Src-family kinases and recruitment of PI-3 kinase. CD19 and CD45R/B220 are both B cell markers.

Recommended Usage
Each lot of antibody has been tested by flow cytometry staining. We suggest use ≤ 0.5 µg per 106 cells in 100 µl volume of staining buffer. Researchers are recommended to further titrate this antibody at the optimal concentration for each specific application.
