CD29 is a 130kD protein of the integrin family expressed on the surface on a broad variety of cells. CD29 associates with integrin-alpha chains and form a heterodimer. With CD49 through CD49f, CD20 forms the VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes. CD29 is critically involved in the cell-matrix interaction.
