Anti-Mouse F4/80 Antibody, Purified

F4/80, also known as EMR1 or Ly7, is a 160 kDa glycoprotein and member of the adhesion GPCR family. F4/80 is a well-known and widely used marker of murine macrophage populations and is expressed by the majority of tissue macrophages including macrophages found in the lung, gut, peritoneal cavity, thymus, and red pulp of spleen (but not on the macrophages located in T cell areas of the spleen, lymph node, and Peyer's patch). Kuffer cells, Langerhans cells, bone marrow stromal cells, and subsets of dendritic cells also express F4/80. It has been reported that F4/80 is not necessary for the development of tissue macrophages but is required for the induction of efferent CD8+ regulatory T cells needed for peripheral tolerance.

Each lot of antibody has been tested by flow cytometry staining. We suggest use ≤ 0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µl volume of staining buffer. Researchers are recommended to further titrate this antibody at the optimal concentration for each specific application.

Keep the lyophilized antibodies at -20 °C. Once reconstituted with PBS, store at 2 °C - 8 °C for less than 3 weeks or freeze at -20°C for long term storage. Please limit freeze and thaw cycles.
