PDE8A plays a role in signal transduction by regulating the intracellular concentration of cyclic nucleotides. This phosphodiesterase, which has a high affinity for cAMP, may be involved in maintaining basal levels of the cyclic nucleotide and/or in the cAMP regulation of germ cell development.

	Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human colon carcinoma tissue reacted with PDE8A antibody (Center) (L572)(Cat# 102-12575), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
