Description
PTEN, phosphatase and tensin homolog (TEP1), is a dual specificity protein/3-lipid phosphatase that functions as a tumor suppressor and negative growth regulator. Inactivation of PTEN is associated with a variety cancers including glioblastoma, melanoma, and prostate, breast, and endometrial cancers. The PTEN gene product is a putative protein tyrosine phosphatase that is localized to the cytoplasm and shares extensive homology with the cytoskeletal proteins tensin and auxilin.
Storage / Stability
The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Specificity
This antibody was selected for its ability to detect human PTEN. In ELISA and Western Blot, this antibody showed specifically binding to human recombinant protein, and there was cross-reactivity with tested proteins from other species.
