Serpin A1, belonging to the serpin superfamily, was generally known as serum trypsin inhibitor.It can inhibits a wide variety of proteases, protects tissues from enzymes of inflammatory cells, especially neutrophil elastase, and has a reference range in blood of 1.5 - 3.5 gram/liter , but the concentration can rise manyfold upon acute inflammation.

The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20^°C to -70^°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4^°C for 1 month or at -20^°C to -70^°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity.
