Description

Introduction

This gene encodes a member of the serpin superfamily of serine proteinase inhibitors. The protein is primarily secreted by axons in the brain, and preferentially reacts with and inhibits tissue-type plasminogen activator. It is thought to play a role in the regulation of axonal growth and the development of synaptic plasticity. Mutations in this gene result in familial encephalopathy with neuroserpin inclusion bodies (FENIB), which is a dominantly inherited form of familial encephalopathy and epilepsy characterized by the accumulation of mutant neuroserpin polymers. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.

	Western blot analysis of lysate from SH-SY5Y cell line, using SERPINI1 Antibody (N-term)(Cat# 102-10635). 102-10635 was diluted at 1:1000 at each lane. A goat anti-rabbit IgG H&L(HRP) at 1:5000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody. Lysate at 35ug per lane.
	SERPINI1 antibody (N-term) (Cat# 102-10635) immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the SERPINI1 antibody (N-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
	Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of SERPINI1 Antibody (N-term)(Cat# 102-10635) with HepG2 cell followed by Alexa Fluor^® 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG (green). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).
