We used this kit to coupling oligos to the beads for nucleic acids extraction and found it the best beads to work with after testing about 10 commercially available sources. The recovery rate/extraction efficiency is excellent, the beads are easy to handle, do not stick to tubes and the magnetic strength is strong. Overall, very good beads for my experiments.However, this is achieved by using our own coupling protocol, with higher EDC concentration, higher reaction temperature, and stringent washing after coupling, compared to the protocols provided with the kit. Following the provided protocols did give me good results.Besides, it will be nice to label the bead concentration on the bottle/container. The two protocols provided may need some edit to make it more clear, such as EDC/NHS preparation, NHS is not needed for one-step coupling.
