
Immunophenotyping
Immunophenotyping by flow is the process of using a cells surface markers to classify individual cells from a population into more delineated subgroups. For example, taking white bloods cells from a sample and subgrouping them into B cells or T cells. You can then further group them into CD4 or CD8 T cells, and further then into Effector CD4 T cells, Memory CD4 T cells and so on. This process uses fluorescently labeled antibodies specific for these cell surface markers, and then “gating” on these fluorescent antibodies in ways to discriminate the specific populations of interest. More complex sample types, or the more specific a population of interest is, the better the immunophenotyping antibody panel needs to be. And that is where RayBiotech comes in.
