Immunogen was Human beta2 Microglobulin. This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with the immunogen. The IgG fraction of tissue culture supernatant was purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
A separate vial of dilution buffer is provided for reconstitution. The antibody is supplied lyophilized, originally containing PBS, without preservative stabilizers (e.g. sodium azide). The final amount is indicated on the shipping vial.
Human Beta-2 Microglobulin (beta2 M) is an 11.8 kD protein identical to the light chain of the HLA-A, -B, and -C antigen. beta2 M is expressed on nucleated cells, and is found at low levels in the serum and urine of normal individuals. Its concentrations are increased in inflammatory diseases, some viral diseases, renal dysfunction, and autoimmune diseases. A number of publications are available which explain the interpretation of beta2 M serum levels in assessing the status of individuals with various clinical conditions. beta2 M was expressed in multiple cell lines derived from patients with prostate cancer, and human B2M was found in serum of mice bearing human prostate cancer xenografts. Immunohistochemistry showed that beta2 M is highlyexpressed in prostate acinar cells and suggests increased expressionin malignant over nonmalignant cells. Lastly, serumbeta2 M levels significantly elevated in patients with advanced prostate cancer.
The antibody is stable for at least 1 year from the date of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody can also be aliquotted and stored at 4°C for 1 month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for many months without detectable loss activity. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
The antibody detects specifically target derived from human recombinant protein as well as Conditioned mediumfrom LNCaP cells of at various concentrations. Cross reactivity with mouse and rat are not tested yet.
