I've been very pleased with this kit. Since it is somewhat difficult to bleed mice for this type of assay, I was very happy to find that 5 ul of plasma was perfectly adequate to generate a decent signal in the middle of the standard curve and allowed me to run duplicates. I also validated it in two groups of mice (n=6 each) placed on low and high salt diets to check for appropriate renin response. The kit very nicely measured the expected up- and down-regulation of renin from the same mice fed normal chow. Sensitivity and reproducibility are good and the instructions provided were very clear.

I've been using this kit for a couple of years. It's specificity and sensitivity meet my needs. I have got pretty consistent results.

Excellent dynamic range and sensitivity for hormone detection in serum with appropriate sample dilutions. Easy to use 8-well strip format, which makes it possible to run small sample batches on a single assay kit. Standards can be scaled to fit a smaller dynamic range for higher accuracy and reproducibility. As listed the protocol run-time is of average length for other ELISA products with an overnight incubation and wash steps. Colorimetric detection is quick and simple.

I have used a couple of the kits so far, and pretty much satisfied with my results. But one of the problems I found was that I could never get the high concentration points (i.e. 50000pg/ml or 12500pg/ml) on the Standard Curve as your manual indicated, the machine was simply saturated. Also, I wish some of the reagents could last longer, not just for 5-7 days.
