RayBiotech's Amine Hi-Sur Mag magnetic beads of various diameters (1 µm) are now available in an easy-to-use kit format to enable researchers to conjugate proteins/ligands of their own choice to these magnetic beads. Attribute to the very large surface area (about three times larger than that of the Amine Mono Mag (1 µm)) and unique surface coating of the Amine Hi-Sur Mag (1 µm), the kit exhibits superior binding capacity and low non-specific binding. 8AHK-1 contains sufficient reagents & components for performing at least 5 conjugation reactions. Briefly, the magnetic beads are activated using SMCC (succinimidyl 4-(N-maleimidomethyl) cyclohexane-1-carboxylate) followed by conjugation to thiol groups that are present on the target protein/ligand. The recommended protocol has been used to successfully conjugate bovine serum albumin, streptavidin or immunoglobulin to these magnetic beads.
