This kit utilizes a specially designed ultra-trace DNA spin column and a unique buffering system, making it ideal for isolating and purifying genomic DNA from trace amounts of blood, forensic materials, dried blood spots, stamps, chewing gum, urine, and other small samples. After sample lysis and digestion, DNA selectively binds to the silica membrane in the spin column under high salt conditions (a special Poly Carrier is included to efficiently capture trace amounts of nucleic acids). A series of rapid wash and centrifugation steps remove salts, cellular debris, and proteins. Finally, a low-salt elution buffer elutes the purified genomic DNA from the silica membrane. The purified DNA is free of impurities and PCR inhibitors, suitable for direct PCR analysis.
