Reconstitution	Supplied as lyophilized purified antibody. The antibody is stable for at least one year from the data of receipt when stored at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted antibody (recommended with H20 1 mg/ml) can also be aliquoted and stored frozen at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer for months without detectable loss activity. Upon reconstitution, the antibody can be stored at 4°C for 1 month. If 1 ml of H20 is used, the antibody concentration will be 100 ?g/ml. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Description

Amylin (Islet/insulinoma amyloid polypeptide or IAPP) is a 37-amino acid monomeric polypeptide isolated from pancreatic amyloid. This protein, with a calculated molecular mass of 4 kDa, is a major component of amyloid-rich pancreatic extracts of three type 2 diabetic patients. IAPP has cysteine residues in positions 2 and 7, a feature found in all known calcitonin gene-related peptides. IAPP shows 46% amino acid sequence homology with CGRP II. Amylin is colocalized with somatostatin in endocrine cells of the gastric fundus.

Specificity

The rabbit anti-human Amylin antibody detects specifically both synthetic peptide and cellular protein from 3T3-L1 cell line. Cross reactivity with mouse and rat are expected from sequence similarity.
