Telomeres are repetitive nucleotide sequences located at the ends of chromosomes, and they are important for chromosome stability. Telomeres shorten in length during each cycle of cell division. Extensive telomere shortening could lead to genomic instability and has implications in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Telomere length also serves as a biomarker for aging and age-related diseases. Therefore, the ability to accurately measure telomere length is critical when studying such diseases.
The RayBio® Mouse Telomere Length Absolute Quantification Kit (TELM-AQ) is a Taqman™ probe-based qPCR assay for the specific quantitative measurement of mouse telomere length. The use of Taqman™ probes allows the internal gene (Single copy reference gene, SCR) and telomere (TEL) to be amplified in one reaction tube. The optimized PCR formulation provides superior specificity and efficiency with a wide linear dynamic range. This kit allows for the absolute quantification of telomere length using genomic DNA from various sources including cultured cells, tissue, saliva, scraped cells, urine, spinal fluid, lavage fluid, blood, etc.
